Safaricom announced their partnership with UK firm Circle Gas which runs M-Gas in Kenya and Tanzania to launch prepaid gas service for Kenyan households at Metta on 14th Jan 2020.

The launch was attended by British Member of Parliament Alok Sharma – Secretary of State for Business, Energy, and Industrial Strategy.

Our fireside chat series is a regular series that we host at Metta, where we have candid conversations with exemplary individuals, including writers, artists, entrepreneurs, etc. Some of our past guests include Peter Nduati, Wandia Gichuru, Makena Onjerika, Darshan Chandaria, and more.

Our after 5 event is our monthly creatives event that looks to bring artists and creative entrepreneurs to meet, and mingle. The events are centered on varying themes, ranging from art, music, fashion etc.

After 5 takes place usually on the last Friday of the month and it gives attendees a chance to network and unwind. There’s music food, ocassional pop up stores etc. In the past we’ve hosted the cast of Too Early For Birds, Karibu Kijiji’s FuckUp Nights, Olivia Munoru’s Nairobi Soap Box and an a creatives showcase.

Our Fashion Product Lab is a programme run by Metta Nairobi that aims to support fashion entrepreneurs by imparting them with the necessary skills to aid in the growth of their business/enterprises. Over the course of the programme, the cohort gets to learn from industry experts, and get paired with mentors to help them along their entrepreneurial journey. The programme culminates in a Demo Day where they get to showcase their skill and expertise in a runway style event.
