  • What is Mettā?

    Mettā is networking space entrepreneurs call home. We are a members only club, and our members include entrepreneurs, startup founders, investors and industry experts. We aim to bridge the gap between different groups of people from the startup ecosystem.

  • How do I become a member of Mettā?

    Mettā is an invitation only community and we want to make sure that all our members are the right fit and a value-add for the community. We want to make sure that, whether you are a startup, and investor or an industry expert, you understand that Mettā is a networking space (not a co-working space), that you may be asked to contribute to the community (mentoring, speaking, teaching) and that this is a place where you will receive as much as you give.   • I have a startup / SME and I want to promote my services. Can I do that?

    Mettā has business memberships available, designed to support young companies. These memberships include 3 individual memberships as well as 3 annual co-branded events.

  • How long does each membership last?

    Memberships are paid annually.

  • Do I have to be a start up or an investor to be a part of Mettā?

    Members of Mettā are startups, investors, entrepreneurs, industry experts and corporates - as long as you are willing to contribute and share, you’re welcome to join.

  • Could I bring non-members for a meeting?

    Each individual member is allowed to bring 3 guests per visit.

  • How much will it cost if I wanted to have a meeting or an event?

    Meeting rooms are available for rent by the hour. Events are bespoke and pricing differs depending on value, content and privacy. To apply for hosting an event or a meet-up, please contact events@metta.co.

  • What does a membership include?

    As a Mettā member have unlimited access to the Mettā lounge, as long as you do not confuse us with a co-work space. A membership will also give you access to our events, which we hold nearly daily and are for the most part free of charge. You may also put forward your own events as long as they are relevant for the Mettā community and approved by the Head of Events. (apply at events@metta.co). You will receive a 15% discount at the Coffee Bar. Finally a membership will give you access to our online platforms, which will connect members of Mettā globally.

  • Is there a private meeting room at Mettā?

    Were have 2 meeting rooms that can be rented by the hour at HKD250/h. A membership will however include one hour per month, free of charge. Meeting rooms are for 4 and 6 people. A room for 8 can be arranged, but will not be sound proof.

  • What are the requirements to hold a event at Mettā?

    Mettā is happy to welcome events that are relevant for the community. Events can only be hosted by Mettā members and have to include an invitation to our members. Events are not free of charge. Please contact events@metta.co for more information. Please also note that all catering has to go through The Coffee Academics.

  • Is there a printing service or a stationery corner (paper clips, staplers, files)?

    Nope - as we said, we’re not a co-work space, unfortunately we don’t have the normal office facilities and will not accept letters on your behalf.

  • What are the operating hours?

    8:30 am - 9:00 pm (Mon - Fri). 10:00 am - 7:00 pm (Sat)

  • Can I rent a desk, a table or a work station?

    No, unless you book a meeting room (see above). If no tables are available, please feel free to share someone else’s table. You are all Mettā members and maybe the person at that table might be the missing piece of the puzzle you needed to move your enterprise to the next level. Network and communicate, the community is why Mettā exists.

  • Can Mettā do anything to connect me to a startup/investor?

    Mettā offers online and offline ways to make valuable connections, but at the end of the day, you decide how much you wish you connect with fellow members. Attending events and introducing yourself to others will determine how many valuable connections you will be able to make. Mettā commits to creating a community, you commit to making the most of it and to helping it grow and flourish.

  • Are there any food and beverages being sold at Mettā?

    Yes. Mettā partnered with The Coffee Academics to create the BrewBār, which provides a wide range of coffees, juices salads and sandwiches, but also wines and beers.

  • Can I bring my own food and drinks to Mettā?

    No. All F&B has to be purchased at the BrewBār and no outside food will be tolerated. Sorry :-)

  • Is there a dress code for Mettā?

    Yes, please come dressed as yourself. As long as you are wearing clothes we are happy.

  • Can I put my feet on the furniture?

    No. Please don’t.

  • I am not sure if I want to join Mettā. Can I get a trial membership?

    Sure, we can issue a temporary membership card to you, which will give you full rights to Mettā for 2 visits. After that you Should know whether you would like to join or not.

  • As a non-member, can I join events free of charge?

    If you are a startup that was incorporated less than 3 years ago, we are happy to give you a startup membership card which gives you access to events only, not the space. If you are not a startup, we would ask you to pay the regular membership, even if you just need access to the events. We work hard to create meaningful events and this is not free of charge.

  • Could I pitch ideas for new event formats or space improvement?

    Sure, we are always open for new ideas and a fresh eye. Simply contact connect@metta.co with your great ideas.
